DESCRIPTION:The Dublin Silver band\, a 32 member British style brass band\, came into existence in 2008. The group was assembled with the expressed purpose of competing in the U.S. Open Brass Band Championships\, and continues the tradition of contesting that is such an integral part of the British Brass Band genre. \n\nThe members of the Dublin Silver Band have been chosen for not only their outstanding musicianship\, but also for their willingness to commit to becoming one of the elite groups of its type in North America and the World. The band wants to put Dublin on the international musical map through its innovative performances\, both locally and in other parts of North America\, and hopefully not too far in the future\, abroad.\n\nThis group of professional-level volunteer musicians come together from communities all over Central Ohio and as far away as Marion\, Bellefontaine\, and Cincinnati. They are determined to make excellence their number-one priority\, and to make their performances innovative\, intriguing\, entertaining\, and clearly different from other groups of their type.
