Ohio Hi-Point Superintendent Rick Smith will be sharing updates on new legislation and programs that expand employers ability to hire minors. With the passage of HB 166 late in 2021, even employers coded as having a "hazardous working environment" are allowed to employ 16 and 17 year olds in a part-time capacity related to their program of study. This new legislation makes provisions to ensure workers compensation and insurance liability is NOT impacted.
Come learn about this critical shift in legislation and how it can positively impact our local students and you as a local employer.
Dr. Smith will also provide updates on Ohio Hi-Point's Work Based Learning programs and how construction is progressing on campus.
