The Lima Regional IT Alliance has again selected the Lima Veterans' Memorial Civic and Convention Center as the venue for the LRITA.org 2013 Tech Conference scheduled Thursday, April 18, 2013.
The LRITA.org 2013 Tech Conference planning committee invites you to join us along with our many presenters and our region's IT vendors for this premiere IT professional event. This is where we all come together in sharing the knowledge.
As in the past, we are on our way to putting 20 presentations on the agenda. The presenters are ready to share their knowledge on various information technologies across 4 tracks throughout the day.
We also will have a large group of vendor booths including some new companies this year, as well as returning vendors from last year.
This year our guest keynote speaker will be Matthew Haschak Director of IT Security and Infrastructure at Bowling Green State University & Board of Directors Toledo InfraGard Members Alliance.
Matthew Haschak, CISSP is the Director of IT Security and Infrastructure at Bowling Green State University. In addition to this role at BGSU, he is the founding President of the Toledo InfraGard Members Alliance and an appointee to the State of Ohio Council on Cybersecurity, Education and Economic Development. He has also participated in study as a technical advisor for a National Institute of Justice funded grant that researched Information Security in Academic Institutions.
"Preparing Your Organization for the Impacts of Cyberwarfare"
Cyberwarfare is no longer some futuristic concept. Today the news is filled with examples of attacks using malware, denial of service attacks, and cyber espionage. As businesses, and society as a whole, become more reliant upon technology we become more vulnerable to the impacts of cyberattacks. This presentation will help provide background on existing threats and impacts so organizations can develop a plan to mitigate the risk of cyberattacks.
Catering will be provided by Old Barn Out Back. (http://oldbarnoutback.com/)
Door prizes also provided at the end of the event.
At last year's conference we attracted over 180 attendees proving there is significant interest in a technology venue such as this one in the Lima\ Findlay \Bellefontaine \Toledo\Sidney regions. This year we're hoping to push that number toward 200 attendees.
