Join Indian Lake Outfitters in helping set a world record and raise awareness of the importance of wearing a life jacket. The National Safe Boating Council is helping organize events across the United States, including a few here in Ohio.
Anyone with a properly fitted life jacket is welcome to help break the world record for the number of life jackets worn at the same time. Previous events were devoted to inflated life jackets, but this year, the scope has been widened to include all life jackets.
"We welcome anyone who enjoys boating," said Rob Lucas, event coordinator for Ohio DNR Division of Watercraft. "As long as the life jacket fits you properly, whether it's inflatable or inherently buoyant, you're welcome to attend an event.
