Join Indian Lake Outfitters by participating in Wear a Life Jacket to Work Day.
In an effort to increase boating safety awareness, Indian Lake Outfitters is encouraging people to swap their suit jackets for flotation devices on Friday, May 17, 2013.
People aren’t limited to wearing their life jackets to work; other non-typical settings are fair game for a fashion statement on Friday.
In Ohio, there were 10 boating related fatalities in 2012. In all 10 cases, not wearing a lifejacket or wearing it improperly was a contributing factor in the fatalities. Officials said the deaths could have been prevented with the use of a life jacket.
Wear a Life Jacket to Work Day is part of a nationwide campaign called “Ready, Set, Wear It,” which kicks off National Safe Boating Week.
