Maria Zenz, MPT and owner of Minster Individualized Therapy will guide you through a 2-hour intensive workshop on the female pelvic floor. She has extensive post-graduate training in pelvic rehabilitation with a special interest in prenatal and postnatal recovery. Through the combination of movement and discussion, Maria will dive into the anatomy of the female pelvic floor along with many of the things detailed below.
As we age, a strong and flexible pelvic floor helps keep the pelvic and abdominal organs healthy. Proper work of strengthening, stabilizing, stretching and softening the pelvic floor helps to create the correct foundation of movement in the body. Over fifty percent of women struggle with prolapsed organs, incontinence, and pelvic pain. "Just do your Kegels" is the most common prescription as a catch all cure. A healthy, strong, and flexible pelvic floor is more than just doing Kegels and discovering your mula bandha. These common prescriptions can sometimes cause more problems.
The anatomy of the female pelvis is commonly misunderstood and under appreciated. The pelvic muscles are important for optimal function of the body as a whole. The health of the pelvic floor is commonly associated with lumbar spinal problems, sacroiliac, hip, or sciatic pain, bladder weakness, prolapse of the uterus or the bladder, and digestive, menstrual, and sexual difficulties. Join us for two hours of discussion and movement!
